Daniel J.T. Sciano is Chairman of the Board, President, and senior attorney at the Law Offices of Tinsman, & Sciano, Inc. With over 40 years of legal experience, Dan has handled a vast variety of civil and personal injury litigation matters throughout his legal career. They have included both company vehicle claims and general motor vehicle wrecks involving serious injury or death, claims regarding unreasonably dangerous and defective products involving a large assortment of commercial and industrial products, and panoply of claims brought due to catastrophic injury or death. His practice also involves civil litigation in a wide variety of areas whether it is disputes involving Trusts & Estates, breach of fiduciary relationships, oil and gas litigation, DTPA or Insurance litigation, and a vast array of other business disputes. He has a national reputation as to his representation of victims (most often small children) catastrophically injured or killed as a result of range tip-overs. He is and has been involved as both co-lead counsel and local counsel regarding complex consumer class action litigation, collective action cases, and mass tort disputes. His current docket (as it has been for more than a decade) is national in scope. He has argued cases before the 4th Court of Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. He prides himself not only in obtaining fair and reasonable compensation for those he represents, but also works tirelessly in representing clients to ensure that business practices are changed and defective products causing serious bodily injury or death are withdrawn from the marketplace - in an attempt to help ensure similar tragedies do not happen again. This includes forging agreements with companies to recall products from the marketplace, agreements to not manufacture products again, agreements to require additional training, and presenting safety seminars regarding lessons learned. He has been an invited speaker at regional safety seminars to help train professional commercial motor vehicle operators regarding the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Over his legal career, he has written or spoken on a wide variety of legal topics for the State Bar of Texas, and local bar associations as part of continuing legal education of other lawyers. He has been featured on national and local TV, radio, and in written media regarding a diverse range of legal topics over his 4 decade long legal career. He also gives back to the community. He has provided scholarship funds to St. Mary’s School of Law; University of Texas – San Antonio; and for over a decade provided scholarship funds to any high school wrestler that graduated from Churchill High School or Cedarburg High School that promised to attend college. He funded the design and construction of the entire woman’s soft ball field at Antonian College Preparatory High School an archdiocesan Catholic co-education high school.
